TOLEDO MUNICIPAL COURT TO CONTINUE LIMITED OPERATIONS WITH REDUCED STAFF
Toledo Municipal Court issued an order on Sunday, March 15 declaring a temporary judicial emergency in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Under this temporary judicial emergency, judges have limited the operations of the court. Starting Thursday, March 19, non-required staff will not be required to report, but will be available if necessary for staffing. When fully staffed, there are 97 Judges’ Division employees. There are 44 required staff positions that will continue to report to sustain the court’s limited operations.
In an email to staff today, Judge William M. Connelly noted: “Whenever I have the opportunity to speak publicly I always brag about Toledo Municipal Court employees individually and collectively….It has been a blessing to work with extraordinary people.”
Individuals who wish to file civil actions can do so via fax, mail or e-filing. Individuals who wish to make a payment on fines, fees or costs may do so via telephone or online. The court has granted an additional ninety days for all monies due between March 11, 2020 and June 1, 2020.
