Thank you to the Hopi Credit Assocation and Wendi Lewis for putting together the 1st Annual Hopi Economic Summit at the Moenkopi Legacy Inn & Suites. It was great to connect and reconnect with so many people committed to the economic prosperity of our people. I strongly encourage everyone on both Hopi and Navajo to attend next year. I was greatly encouraged by the fact that this was essentially a non-government sponsored event: our entrepreneurs and businesses in the communities are tired of waiting for government to catch up. Get on board or at least don’t get in the way.
I want to personally thank the HCA and Wendi for also asking me provide the Closing Remarks. It was truly and honor to speak about my personal career as an attorney and MBA engaged in Economic Development, but more importantly the progress of the Moenkopi Developers Association, the hard work by so many people since the 1980s to get us here, and the lives that have been positively impacted by the work we are doing. Next year we will be bigger, and we will be better. My call to action was to bring a young person to the next Summit. Lets get our younger generations educated in these concepts and all of the work that is yet to be accomplished. Kwa’kwi. 🙏🏽
