We've had a busy two months of 2026 at CCL, but a great two months for our clients! Another not guilty at trial this week, one felony dismissal and 5 misdemeanor case dismissals, and many other great resolutions! I'm so happy we have been able to provide so many great results to our clients. Doing lady justice proud!

What a tragic week.  So much loss.  From the shooting of children at Evergreen High School to the shooting of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University.  Both places meant to be safe havens for learning and growth.  And to add to these tragedies, the use of them by people to make a political point and to shame/judge the opposing party.  The sad irony is not lost on me that this is occurring during the anniversary week of 9/11 when our country was attacked by outside extremists, not internal extremists we see here.  As someone who's dedicated years of my life representing people who have made horrible decisions and in doing so attempting to better understand why, let me tell you that the perpetrators of these offenses are not taking away from your posts any compassion for loss of life.  They are, however, feeding from the political rhetoric encapsulating it that demonstrates a life lost is an opportunity for their side to make a political point.  I long and pray for the day that when tragedy strikes and people post about the horror of it, it is not immediately apparent what political views they hold and instead it only demonstrates that we are all united in our desire that the violence ends.

🏛️ Aggravating factors: details of the case that the judge considers in a more critical light when passing down a sentence. If someone is a repeat offender, was using others as accomplices, or even using body armor can all be considered reasons to pass down a harsher sentence.
