New regulations to preserve the program are welcomed, but permanent protections are still needed. I join AILA and the American Immigration Council in calling for Congress to pass legislation providing permanent protections for Dreamers and others in legal limbo:

AILA and the American Immigration Council welcomed newly published regulations that codify the DACA program. AILA President Jeremy McKinney noted, "These regulations are essential, but laws are for lasting change," and called on Congress to "pass legislation permanently protecting all Dreamers."

“Just the fact that you are standing in the United States means that you have certain rights. You should preserve them and maintain them, vigorously but It’s easier said than done,” Anderson said. “You don’t have to answer their questions about your citizenship status. You don’t have to let them into your home if they don’t have a warrant that’s signed by a judge. You don’t have to do their work for them.
