Our Managing Partner, Dale Swope, was recently mentioned on The Iced Coffee Hour during a conversation with John Morgan about a $6 million case. The doctor’s insurance company had put him in a position where he was personally on the hook for $6 million. When the doctor needed a lawyer to go after his own insurance company, Morgan told him who to call: Dale Swope.

“I said, ‘There’s a lawyer over in Tampa named Dale Swope. He’s a bad faith lawyer. You need to go hire Dale Swope and sue your insurance company for bad faith, and I’ll testify for you.’”

Morgan went on to share what happened next: “He went and hired Dale Swope. Dale Swope made the bad faith case. He got $6 million. He got his $6 million back.”

The story speaks directly to the reputation Dale has built in bad-faith law and the work he has spent more than 40 years doing: taking on insurance companies when they fail their insureds.

A new chapter for our firm: Swope, Rodante P.A. and Newsome Law have come together as Swope, Rodante, Newsome & Steinberg. Rich Newsome and his firm join our team, while longtime partner Brent Steinberg is elevated to named partner.

The combination brings together established practices, decades of high-stakes litigation experience, and complementary strengths in trial advocacy, product liability, insurance bad faith and coverage, and appellate law.

While our name has changed, the values and collaborative approach that built our firms have not. We have long worked closely with other attorneys and law firms on significant cases, and those relationships remain an important part of who we are.
