Dionnie Wynter Pfunde is the Managing Attorney and Founder of Wynter Law Practice, LLC. I am a 2005 graduate of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School – Lansing Campus. (now Western Michigan University Cooley Law School). I received my undergraduate degree from John Jay
College of Criminal Justice in New York City where I majored in Government; prior to that I received my Associate in Applied Science Degree from Bronx Community College in Paralegal Studies. I emigrated from Jamaica in 1996. There i attended Claremont All-Age School and am a 1992 graduate of Ferncourt High School. I have served on numerous committees: Client Protection Fund Committee with the State Bar of Michigan; Former First Vice-President and Law School Liaison of the George Edgecomb Bar Association. She was also a fundraiser for the United Way Suncoast. I was the former Assistant Director of the Center for Ethics, Service, and Professionalism at the Auburn Hills Campus of Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. While in this position I spearheaded numerous community service projects: Immigration Law Outreach, where I assisted, with the help of law students, immigrants to become naturalized United States Citizens; Expungement Programs, primarily to help the citizens of Detroit who have had minor criminal convictions; Senior Pro Bono Outreach, where I provided assistance to elderly in preparing their wills. . Prior to this I worked at the State bar of Michigan where I supported the work of the Pro Bono Initiative. Pfunde is a 2009 Hillman Advocacy graduate and a former executive board member of the Lansing Black Lawyers Association. I also served as an adjunct faculty member at Davenport University where I lectured in Business Law. I am the former Campus Director of the WMU Cooley Law School Tampa Bay Campus. I am licensed to practice law with the State Bar of Michigan; Western District of Michigan; New Jersey State Bar Association and United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the United States Supreme Court. I am an avid runner. I competed in numerous road races including 7 full marathons, 26.2 miles among other distances. Most notably the 2013 Reggae Marathon in Negril Jamaica. I am the wife of Cleopas Pfunde and proud mother of Danielle and Demani.
