The back and forth may be over. Felons who have served their time, will actually get a voice in 2020. You still have to register to vote and actually vote to have your voice heard!!! You can now clearly register and vote even if your old fines and costs are not paid. Now if we only stop suspending driver licenses for old unpaid fines and costs.

A federal court struck down a Florida law which denied individuals with prior felony convictions the right to vote if they could not afford to pay certain fees and fines. Tuesday's decision will restore the right to vote for some 1.4 million Floridians who would have otherwise been eligible to vote....

A federal appeals court says Florida cannot bar felons who served their time from registering to vote simply because they have failed to pay all fines and fees stemming from their cases.
