A Hillsborough County deputy was arrested after a traffic stop in Citrus Park, according to HCSO.

Reports say the stop happened near Gunn Highway and Normandie Road, where deputies noted signs of impairment. The deputy was charged with DUI and refusal to submit to testing after reportedly refusing field sobriety exercises and a breath sample.

This reported incident did not involve a crash, but it is a serious reminder: impaired driving puts everyone on the road at risk.

No one is above roadway safety.

A Tampa police officer was recently arrested after allegedly driving at extreme speeds on I-75 near Big Bend Road.

According to reports, the off-duty officer was accused of driving more than 100 mph, with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Deputy reporting a speed of 134 mph.

This is a reminder that reckless speed is not just “bad driving.” At highway speeds, one careless decision can leave another driver, passenger, motorcyclist, or family with life-changing injuries.

No one gets a free pass on the road.

A tragic three-vehicle crash in St. Petersburg left one passenger dead and two drivers critically injured after an early-morning collision near 18th Avenue South and 29th Street South.

Crashes like this raise serious legal questions, especially for passengers and families. When someone is injured or killed in a multi-vehicle crash, the investigation may need to look at more than one driver, available insurance coverage, uninsured motorist coverage, and whether a wrongful death claim may be available.

Passengers are often the least responsible people in a crash, but they can suffer the worst consequences. Families should not have to sort through insurance issues, liability disputes, and legal deadlines alone, because apparently tragedy still comes with paperwork.

Armando Personal Injury Law helps injured crash victims and grieving families across St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, and Tampa Bay understand their rights after serious and fatal accidents.

Florida's first responders are having a very busy morning right now.

Several injury Crashes and Roadblocks Reported in Tampa and St. Petersburg

Drivers across Tampa Bay should use caution after multiple crashes were reported in Hillsborough County and Pinellas County, including injury crashes with reported roadblocks.

In Hillsborough County, reported incidents included:

N Florida Ave and 138th Ave W in Tampa — crash with injuries and roadblock
US-301 and McIntosh Rd in Thonotosassa — vehicle crash

In Pinellas County, reported incidents included:

54th Ave N and Haines Rd N in St. Petersburg — crash with injuries and reported roadblock
US-19 and Tampa Rd in Palm Harbor — vehicle crash

These incidents may affect drivers in North Tampa, Thonotosassa, St. Petersburg, and Palm Harbor. Expect delays, use extra caution, and watch for emergency responders, especially where injuries or roadblocks were reported. Humans do love turning ordinary intersections into problem zones.

If you or a loved one was hurt in a Tampa Bay crash, get medical attention promptly, document what you can, and be careful when speaking with insurance companies.

This is exactly why you need to move over for emergency vehicles. They are responding to an accident to help people, but a moment of refusing to do the right thing, caused even more injuries and of course, destruction of not only their vehicle but a fire truck, too. That's not a bill you ever want to have to pay. So just slow down and move over.

This morning, Brodhead Fire Department responded to an injury accident on I-75 northbound at the 69.8 mile marker.

Upon arrival, Engine 11 was positioned in a blocking position to protect the scene, closing the right travel lane. Command 12 was positioned well in advance of the incident as a warning vehicle to provide additional scene protection for responders and motorists.

While crews were operating on the scene, a passenger vehicle failed to move over and struck Engine 11 on the driver’s side. As a result of the collision, one Brodhead firefighter was transported from the scene to Saint Joseph Berea for evaluation and has since been treated and released. The occupant of the passenger vehicle refused treatment and transport at the scene.

Kentucky State Police Post 11 responded and is actively investigating both collisions.

This incident serves as an important reminder that Kentucky’s Move Over Law exists to protect emergency responders, law enforcement, tow operators, highway workers, and the motoring public. When you see emergency vehicles with lights activated, slow down and move over. If you cannot safely move over, reduce your speed and proceed with extreme caution.

Thankfully, today’s incident did not result in more serious injuries.

Waymo self-driving vehicles are getting closer to public use in Tampa.
In this LawTails clip, the discussion explains that vehicles may be driven during testing and mapping before they are opened for broader public rides. That transition matters because once passengers, pedestrians, cyclists, and other drivers are involved, the safety questions become much more serious.
What roads were mapped? What conditions were tested? What limits apply? What happens when the vehicle encounters something unexpected?
Driverless technology may be exciting, but public rollout should come with transparency and accountability.

A tragic Plant City crash claimed the life of a 19-year-old pedestrian, and officials say the driver later faced charges after allegedly waiting to call 911.

When a fatal crash happens, the criminal case is only one part of the story. Families may also have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim to uncover what happened, preserve evidence, and seek accountability for the loss of their loved one.

Delays, suspected impairment, scene evidence, witness statements, and emergency response timelines can all matter. These cases need to be investigated quickly, because evidence does not politely wait around while insurance companies pretend to care.
