Danahy & Dunnavant, P.A. is proud to announce a significant victory before the Florida Supreme Court in Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company v. Rebecca Hughes, Case No. SC2024-0025.
In its opinion released October 22, 2026, the Florida Supreme Court ruled in favor of our client, holding that the presuit notice requirements of Florida Statute § 627.70152 do not apply retroactively to insurance policies issued before the statute took effect.
This landmark ruling resolves conflicting decisions among Florida’s appellate courts and represents an important victory for policyholders throughout the state.
