"Florida Is an At-Will State" - What That Phrase Actually Settles (And What It Doesn't) 🌴

It gets said in break rooms and in HR meetings, usually in the same tone: "Florida is an at-will state." As if that ends the conversation.
It doesn't. And the interesting thing is that the phrase gets misread in opposite directions by the two people most affected by it, each assuming it means more than it does, in their own favor or against it.

One line clears most of it up:

🔸 At-will means no reason is required. It does not mean any reason is allowed. 🔸
