Bogenschutz started her career as a prosecutor, spending nine years in the Broward County State Attorney's Office. During that tenure, her first four years were spent prosecuting all types of cases from simple DUIs through and including complicated attempted murder charges. She was promoted to the Sexual Battery Unit, a special unit that focuses on s*x crimes and crimes against children, including
child po*******hy, where she spent four and a half years. During that time, she also investigated undetermined causes of death in children and was able to indict one as a high profile first degree murder after nearly a year of investigation. Bogenschutz was later promoted to the 10-20-Life (gun) unit in that office, where she was assigned when she resigned to move to Tallahassee to reside with her now-husband. Bogenschutz was hired directly into the felony division of the Leon County State Attorney's Office due to her years of experience out of county and was quickly designated to handle approximately one quarter of the s*x crimes that occurred in Leon County, the home of FSU, FAMU, and the newly-renamed Tallahassee State College. Bogenschutz taught classes to other prosecutors (Continuing Legal Education) in s*x crimes and child abuse cases. Bogenschutz was recruited to join a local criminal defense firm, where she spent the next three and a half years defending all manner of cases. Frequently, Ms. Bogenschutz was utilized in s*x crimes cases because of her knowledge and experience in those cases. In January 2025, Ms. Bogenschutz opened Bogenschutz PLLC and began her journey as a solo practitioner. She lives in Tallahassee with her husband and young daughter, along with a menagerie of rescued animals. She enjoys swimming, kayaking, and both scuba diving and snorkeling in her free time. She is a member of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers, and the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Bogenschutz has handled numerous high profile and sensitive cases in her career.
