Hill day is one of my favorite events Washington Realtors puts on. I enjoy all of them but his event draws a variety of our membership. The ones who show up want to know more about what effects their business, their clients and what shapes our economy here in Washington state. This event is for those who want to know more, who are tired of sitting back and wondering how we got here, it’s to find out that collaborative relationships are truly what make our home (Washington) a better place. Sure we won’t all agree but to witness 500+ plus members engage in open dialogue it’s pretty astounding. It reminds me that at the end of the day human engagement is something that can never be replaced. I hope to see you there.

Had a good birthday weekend. I worked at Mosaic festival in Tacoma, I saw a monstrous Bird of Paradise, got myself a new watch from a guy with a cool watch delivered with beers from a cool car. 39 is going to be great. As the years go on I seem to be enjoying life more and more.

I am so happy that there are kind people in my life who want to inspire others to be better humans. Thanks to .windermere for getting the last item off a kids Christmas wish list. No child should have to ask for a new bed. To think of the things most of us take for granted not having a place to sleep for an elementary kid is something they shouldn’t worry about. They should worry about just being a kid. I am very grateful to be surrounded by people who want to give when they can. If you haven’t done anything for a stranger this holiday season the time isn’t too late. Special shout out to .windermere for improving the holiday season for 100… yes one hundred kids from Tacoma public schools. To be better we have to do better.

This has been more of an undertaking than I anticipated. I wanted to do a flip but then I decided what most people do for flips just isn’t enough for someone buying a home that’s more than half a million dollars plus. With the knowledge I have accumulated in 8 years of buying and selling real estate I have learned there is nothing like a home built in the 1920’s. The craftsmanship, the quality of timber used and the intention behind the homes being built of the era. I also know of all the problems that come along with these homes, old sewer lines, k**b and tube wiring, lead plumbing drainage lines, galvanized water supply lines, asbestos, single pane windows, fuse box panels, foundation and drainage issues. Well guess what once I opened Pandora’s box I knew I had to address all of these. It ain’t cheap but I know it’s done the right way. I’m excited to see this final project once we get this final electrical permit and the insulation and drywall begins. Then last step finish work and this renovation will be complete. Stay tuned.

It’s getting windy here in Western Washington. Had two clients with tree issues over the last week. Today is supposed to be gusty as well. Luckily we have some solid partnerships with They were at my clients house in under an hour and in contact with insurance same day. Like I always say Relationships matter.
