Please consider voting for Dave Larson for WA Supreme Court Justice. He is the judge who will help to maintain the Limited License Legal Technician profession as an important component of the public's access to justice through affordable legal services. PASS IT ON!

Justice Montoya-Lewis voted to sunset the LLLT profession, stating that the program did not work as intended to provide citizens with better access to legal aid, and technicians struggled to make a living. SHE'S GOT HER SO-CALLED FACTS WRONG. We LLLTs are overloaded with work from clients who can't afford attorneys. I have over 40 active clients right now. LLLTs ARE providing the public with better access to legal services.

A sitting US Supreme Court justice supports innovative legal services, such as Washington's Limited License Legal Technician profession, which our own State Supreme Court recently has made defunct. How can such a progressive state make such a regressive decision? Ill-informed, monopolistic, and elitist attorneys who sit on the WSBA Board of Governors who have passed along that misinformation to our justices!!!

Arizona and Utah are pioneering ways to expand access to legal services, and we hope other states follow. You shouldn't have to go it alone in court.

"Rule makers must adapt to assimilate new legal professionals and blunt the effects of unequal access to new technology. Bar associations must drop their reflexive opposition and engage in an evidence-based debate about when lawyers are needed and when they’re not.

"

(Bloomberg Opinion) -- The time of coronavirus has been a time of reckonings — about the perils of political polarization, a diminished public sector and America’s unfinished project of civil rights. But there is a further reckoning that will soon play out, not in our hospitals, but in our court...
