Clients notice when an attorney treats their case like it matters, not just as a file number, but as their life.

Mike Fisher has handled truck, motorcycle, and boat accident litigation, construction site injuries, and nursing home negligence cases throughout his career at RHHK. In 2021, Mike was invited to join the American Board of Trial Advocates, a distinction reserved for attorneys with significant jury trial experience.

That's the kind of advocate we're proud to have in Mike!

Vern Harkins has been practicing law in Washington for 50 years. This week, the Washington State Bar Association honored him for it at their Tribute Luncheon at the Museum of Flight in Seattle.

Vern started as a deputy prosecutor in Spokane County before coming home to Tacoma, where he was born and raised, and joining RHHK in 1980. Since then, his cases have set legal precedent across Washington and secured six- and seven-figure verdicts and settlements for injured people and their families.

Fifty years in, his approach hasn't changed: thorough preparation, hard-earned results, and a genuine commitment to every client he represents.
Congratulations on this milestone, Vern!

Washington roads see thousands of collisions every year, and most of them are preventable.

Distracted driving, speeding, and impaired driving remain the leading causes of crashes across Pierce, King, and Thurston counties. National Traffic Awareness Month is a reminder to stay alert behind the wheel, but if you're the one who gets hit, awareness campaigns won't cover your medical bills or lost wages. An insurance company will try to.

That's where we come in. RHHK has represented injured drivers, passengers, and pedestrians across the South Sound for decades. We know how these cases get built, and how they get undervalued by the other side.

If you've been in a crash, don't navigate it alone.

A car accident can happen in an instant. The consequences can last a lifetime.

Pierce County recorded 12,491 crashes in 2025, including 78 fatal wrecks and hundreds resulting in serious injuries. The insurance company starts building its file immediately. You need someone building yours.

RHHK has represented thousands of injury victims across Western Washington since 1959. Our attorneys know these roads, these insurers, and what it takes to pursue the compensation you’re owed.

“We heard about RHHK through the grapevine. Ben Zielinski was assigned to us, and we’re so glad he was. What a great attorney! He knows this world of insurance claims, and will work hard to get what the case is worth.”

After a serious accident, the questions come fast:

How much is my case worth?

Will I have to go to court?

How long will this take?

Unfortunately, the way personal injury settlements are often portrayed in advertising and social media doesn’t help. Our latest blog addresses six of the most common myths, and the reality behind each one, so injury victims can approach their claim with clear expectations.

Independence Day is a time to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy as a community…and on the institutions built to protect them.

The pursuit of justice—equal access to it, and confidence in it—is something RHHK takes seriously every day. Today, on our nation’s 250th birthday, we’re stepping back from that work to wish our clients, colleagues, and community a meaningful and safe Fourth of July.
