Are you concerned that your landlord isn't following their legal responsibilities? Do you have questions about your rights as a tenant? Afraid an ongoing issue might lead to eviction? Come to one of our Housing Justice Project Tenants' Rights Legal Clinics to get advice from our Housing Justice Project attorneys.

If your income and issue are eligible for the clinic, you'll have a 30-minute appointment to receive one-on-one help. Come early and bring anything related to your issue!

We'll be ready to answer your questions next week at a variety of locations, all the way from the Peninsula to Milton, with a couple of Tacoma pop-ups in between. Pop-ups don't provide attorney advice, but can help you with navigating the civil legal system, whether it's a problem with your landlord, a lawsuit for debt collection, a custody issue, questions about wills, etc. Bring us your legal issues and we'll do our best to steer you in the right direction.

We'll be covering some ground next week between two Tacoma pop-ups -- St. Leo's Food Connection on Tuesday, Main Branch Tacoma Library on Friday -- and a trip to Eatonville! If you live in the Eatonville area and have a question for us, please stop by on Thursday.

Pop-ups are free, walk-in, first-come first-served opportunities to receive help with civil legal issues, navigating the system, resources, and just an opportunity to learn more about our services if you haven't met us yet.

Need advice from a Housing Justice Project attorney about an issue with your landlord? Come visit one of our Tenants' Rights Legal Clinics next week. Our regular clinic at the Federal Way Library on 320th was moved to Monday 9/14 due to Labor Day; we'll also be coming to Rainier Beach on Tuesday and holding our usual clinics at Tacoma Public Libraries' Moore Branch on Tuesday and Lakewood City Hall on Thursday.

Come prepared with any documents you have relating to your case and expect to do an intake with a paralegal to determine income and issue eligibility. These clinics are first-come first-served, so arrive early!

Just in time for back to school, we're also back out there with free legal help in a variety of locations September 8-11, covering a lot of ground for a 4-day week! If you're on the Peninsula, take advantage of our full day of pop-ups from Lakebay to Key Center to. Gig Harbor; Wednesday we'll be going from our outdoor pop-up at the Tacoma Dome with Eloise's Cooking Pot Food Bank to the Lakewood Library in the afternoon and if you missed all these but still need us, come to Tacoma Public Libraries' Moore Branch on Thursday or Mottet Branch on Friday.....we'll be happy to talk with you and help you navigate any civil legal issue you're facing.

These are free walk-in clinics where you can receive one-on-one legal advice from one of our Housing Justice Project attorneys; when you come a paralegal will screen you for income and issue eligibility and do an intake. If you are low-income and have a landlord-tenant issue you're worried may lead to eviction, visiting one of these clinics would be a good next step. They are walk-in, first-come-first-served, free and provide a one-on-one 30-minute consultation with a Housing Justice Project attorney if your issue and household income are eligible. If you're a low-income tenant facing a problem with your landlord, whether it's needed repairs not being made, a bill for unreasonable costs on moving out, landlord retaliation, discrmination, harrassment or any other circumstance which is making you feel insecure about your housing, come to one of these walk-in legal clinics in Tacoma, Kent or Lakewood next week. We'll do an intake, screen for income eligibility, and you'll have an opportunity to have a one-on-one consultation with one of our Housing Justice Project staff attorneys about your issue.
