We're hiring Spanish-English transcribers.

Vernon transcribes a lot of Spanish-language audio for WA firms. Recorded interviews, witness statements, IME recordings, dependency hearings where the parties testified in Spanish. We need bilingual transcribers who can produce certified transcripts in English from Spanish source audio.

Native Spanish speakers (or deeply fluent second-language) with legal transcription experience preferred. Court reporting or formal translation background also welcome.

US-based, remote. Background check required. Competitive per-page rates.

Our offices and the courts are closed Monday. A footnote: Cleveland signed Labor Day into law in June 1894, in the middle of the Pullman Strike. Federal troops crushed the strike days later, and the resulting injunction became In re Debs (1895). To every paralegal who held it together this year, take the day off.

We're hiring Captur certified transcribers.

Vernon handles a lot of certified transcription for the WA legal community. Court audio for appeals, recorded interviews for federal investigations, IME and EUO recordings, depositions of recordings, anything else that needs to hold up in court. We need transcribers who can produce work at that standard.

Most transcripts don't need to be expedited. Standard turnaround handles regular matters and keeps the price low.

Expedite is for when a hearing or appeal deadline genuinely can't wait. It's a flat percentage on top of the standard rate, applied at quote time. You see the cost before committing.

Our offices and the courts are closed Friday for the long weekend. Some trivia: 25 of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence were lawyers, and so were four of the five drafters. Franklin was the only non-lawyer in the room. Back Monday.

A dissolution case where the parties already can't be in the same room.

Why are we still asking them to fly into Seattle to do it again on the record?

Most of the family-law depos we cover now run remote. The witness joins from Spokane, opposing counsel from Bellevue, reporter on Zoom. The transcript reads the same as one done in a conference room.

The client doesn't pay for unnecessary travel, and the witness doesn't have to spend another day in a room with their ex. The depo still happens.

If your firm hasn't been pushing remote on dissolution and custody depos, it's worth a second look. Especially when scheduling is tight to trial.
