Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel times of the year, and the roads will be packed with people heading out to visit loved ones.
Whether you're driving a few miles or a few hundred, we’re sharing a few reminders to help you stay safe behind the wheel:
🔹Watch for deer. Collisions spike between October and December, especially around dawn and dusk.
🔹Travel smart: Peak travel times are typically Wednesday afternoon and Sunday evening.
🔹Check the forecast: Ice, snow, and rain can quickly change road conditions, so make sure your vehicle is road-ready.
🔹Minimize distractions: Stay off your phone and focus on the road.
🔹Rest up: Avoid driving drowsy, and never drive under the influence.
If you or someone you know is involved in an accident this holiday season, we are here to help you navigate your next steps. Wishing you and your family a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

Not everything that holds value is listed on a bank statement or investment portfolio. While your estate plan may cover financial accounts like IRAs, 401(k)s, or annuities, it’s just as important to consider the sentimental items — things like family heirlooms, handwritten letters, photo albums, and recipe books.

With autumn in full swing, many drivers overlook a common seasonal hazard: wet leaves. When leaves become saturated with rain, they create a slick surface that can be as dangerous as ice. This condition often leads to reduced tire traction, longer stopping distances, and an increased risk of accidents, especially when braking suddenly.
If you are involved in a crash caused by slippery road conditions:
✅Prioritize safety and seek medical attention if needed.
✅Report the accident to local law enforcement and document the scene thoroughly.
✅Avoid discussing fault at the scene; consult our team before providing statements to insurers.
✅Contact our team as soon as possible to understand your rights and explore potential compensation.
Fall driving comes with unique risks. Stay alert — and if the unexpected happens, our firm is here to help guide you through the legal process. Give us a call anytime.

I went to law school with the goal of becoming a federal agent. After graduating from law school and passing the bar exam in 2001, I started putting in my applications with as many federal law enforcement agencies that were accepting applications. In 2003, I fulfilled my dream of becoming a federal agent. And let me tell you: it’s been a exciting, wild ride ever since.
I love investigating crime. I love interrogating a suspect. I love being an MP-5 Operator. I loved using my law degree to serve as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney and the privilege I had of prosecuting numerous federal cases. I love finding the needle in the hay stack. I love getting my suspect to confess (within the confines of the 5th Amendment of course). But, not everything is kicking in doors and arresting bad guys. Yes, I’ve done my share of that, but law enforcement is not just about catching bad guys. It only takes a few short years of “running and gunning” to learn that there is a lot of negativity and evil in the world. I’ve seen my fair share of that too. A good agent learns to sift through all of that and still find meaning and purpose and even happiness by focusing on the people you help. I love helping people.
As a young, married college student preparing to go to law school, I worked at a small firm in Ogden, Utah (Froerer & Miles, P.C.). I worked as a legal assistant managing the firm’s personal injury cases. The attorneys would meet with the clients, sign them up and then hand the files over to me. I took it from there: I worked with the clients to gather medical records and document medical bills and other expenses. I worked with the insurance companies to help the clients get their personal property damages taken care of. I drafted settlement demands for the attorneys. I worked the cases from start to finish. I loved helping these clients. I loved the part I played in making sure the insurance companies treated them fairly. I told myself back then that, if I ever had the chance, I would start my own practice and do personal injury work.
Over the years, I’ve maintained my bar license and have performed estate planning work for family and friends, who have, in turn, referred family and friends to me. In building up this little part-time, practice on the side, I’ve always felt that to do it right I would need to take it the next level. After 16 years of fighting crime, I’m starting to get tired. I see the light at the end of my 20 year tunnel, and I know that I need an exit strategy. I need to find something that will continue to give me purpose and meaning.
So here I am. Over the next few years, I will be taking my little solo law practice to the next level. For now, I don’t have a fancy office. I guess you could say that the internet is my office; Facebook is my office. I have found that meeting with clients in their home works just fine. It is more personal, and is much easier for the client too.
If I am lucky enough to have you as one of my clients, I will take my experience as a federal agent and prosecutor, my work ethic and professional drive, and apply it to your personal injury or estate planning situation. I’m excited to see where this goes, and I hope you will join me. It would be my honor to help you with your personal injury or estate planning challenges.
Just give me a call or message me directly, and we’ll set it up!
