Our law office filed a lawsuit on July 21, 2026 in the federal Western District of New York against the town of Brighton (in the Rochester area) because for years they have had religious holiday displays in their public square, but have ignored our client's request to have a nativity scene there at Christmastime. The case is Polverino v. Brighton. We are working with the American Center for Law and Justice on this lawsuit.

The 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals on May 18, 2026 in the case of Christian v. James ruled unconstitutional a New York statute which prohibited anyone with a concealed carry permit from carrying their firearm in any business or other private location unless they posted a notice allowing fi****ms to be carried on premises. The decision by a 2-1 majority affirmed New York's restriction to carry a firearm in a public park as a "sensitive location" with the dissent voting to also strike down that provision as violating the 2nd Amendment.
