When a loved one lives in a nursing home, it is not always easy to know how well they are cared for between visits. A few signs deserve close attention:
▪️ Unexplained bruises, cuts, or repeated falls
▪️ Sudden weight loss, poor hygiene, or bedsores
▪️ Withdrawal, fear, or changes in mood around certain staff
▪️ Missing money, medication errors, or unclean living areas
Should you notice any of these signals, write down what you see, take dated photographs, and keep a record of your conversations with staff. Documentation matters.
