Today is Hammond Law’s 12th Anniversary! 🍾

I have now officially worked twice as long for myself as I’ve worked for both previous law firms combined. Owning my own practice was never part of my plan, but I needed more flexibility and autonomy when my second child was born (plus, who doesn’t hate a beltway commute!?) and thus Hammond Law was conceived. I only had enough money saved up to float my paycheck for two weeks so going out on my own was a wild experiment in trusting myself. But that first day, when I rolled into my own office in jeans and a hoodie, the phone rang and it has never stopped ringing since!

I owe all of my success to my clients and colleagues who trust me to help them through some of the most challenging times of their lives and who refer more than enough business to me to keep me with my nose just barely above water. Your confidence in me is the greatest compliment. And to Kristina Burkhart Garrison who is the absolute heart and soul of our firm. Without her, Hammond Law would not (and will not!) exist. 💕

We celebrated today by completely forgetting it was our anniversary and packing in back-to-back meetings. 🫠 But two clients who had no idea it was our anniversary came to the office bearing gifts! 🥹 These beautiful flowers with the most thoughtful card and some outrageously delicious homemade carrot cake cookies with lemon icing that didn’t last long enough for a picture.

It was the perfect reminder that I am so fortunate and grateful for the clients I serve and for the community in which I’ve built my business.

Let’s play a fundraising game! 😃

Shannon Hammond remains in the fundraising lead position among her eleven 2024 Alzheimer's Memory Ball competitors! 📈

She has raised $58,367.70 for the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Maryland Chapter, as of today! 🤯

If we can get 16 people to donate $100 each before midnight, not only will Shannon breach the $60,000 milestone ‼️ but she will donate the equivalent value of legal services to a family affected by young-onset dementia!

Shannon’s donation will help care partners who participate in the various support groups offered by YES!, for which Shannon serves as Board President.
