It’s been a long time since I’ve posted but I’ve been busy doing the work. I had the privilege to see The Goose from Top Gun aka Dr. Greene from ER speak at the MN BCA ICAC and Human Trafficking Conference this week. There were many inspiring and knowledgeable presentations.

Congress has the toolkit to get the train back on track for crime victims and their families nationwide. The Crime Victims Fund has dwindled over the years but now it is facing a nearly 40% cut. This has the potential to leave countless children without the support they need and we are getting closer and closer to the end of the road. Now is the time to take action!

We call on our Congressional leaders to spur action on the Hill and get the Crime Victims Fund back on track in the next appropriations bill.

Your voices to Capitol Hill on the dire VOCA landscape, and the impacts VOCA cuts have on the kids and families Children's Advocacy Centers serve are making a difference, compelling Congress to work with their colleagues to explore all possible short and long-term funding options.

Keep the pressure. Call your member of Congress to tell them to contact Reps. Wagner and Costa to say they join in support of their efforts to fully fund VOCA in the Fiscal Year 24 CJS (Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies) budget. We expect Congress will consider the CJS budget soon, so please contact your representative in the House within the next few weeks: https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative
