Our Response to COVID-19

We here at Focused Legal Solutions take our health and the safety seriously. We take the health and safety of our clients and colleagues very seriously as well. We have been closely monitoring the spread of COVID-19 and are heeding the “social distancing” recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO). With that in mind, we are limiting “in person” meetings and consultations to situations in which such meetings are absolutely critical. We will remain available for appointments over the telephone or using Zoom for teleconferencing.

We plan on maintaining our regular business operations at our office as long as it is safe to do so. In the event that a “Shelter in Place” or similar order is issued, our staff is fully equipped to work from home in order to minimize interruptions or delays in assisting our clients.

We know that these are uncertain times. We want to assure you that we are here to help if you need us. Please stay safe and take all reasonable precautions to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

This is potentially a massive game changer for the Medical Cannabis industry in Florida. I have not had a chance to read the entire opinion yet, but this is a major issue that Governor DeSantis and Nikki Fried have been talking about tackling since January. Hats off to the 1st DCA for this groundbreaking opinion. I can't wait to see the changes that this is going to bring to the industry in our State!!

Monday marks a painful reminder that freedom isn't free and that sacrifice for the greater good should always be an enduring American Value, no matter your political persuasion. Please take a moment over this long weekend to remember those who have laid down their lives to protect the freedoms we hold dear.

Very interesting read this morning. We are starting to see the effect of the digital economy on big box retail centers. I commend companies like Walmart and Target who have integrated full grocery stores into their "Supercenters" to stay ahead of the market.

It seems like we are in a sweet spot in the market. As a seller, its a great time to lock in long term leases with major tenants and sell the property. As a buyer looking for a long term investment, this is a great time to buy, get your financing in place while you have long term tenants as a cushion, and start long term planning for changes in the marketplace. There is still demand for power center and regional center deals but investors have become more critical of these shopping centers.

It's great to see this judge taking a common sense approach to helping patients get the treatment they so desperately need.

A Tallahassee judge gave the OK to Tampa entrepreneur Joe Redner to grow his own pot to treat cancer prompting state health officials to immediately appeal a decision that could open the door to more legal skirmishes over Florida’s medical-ma*****na regulations.

Congratulations to our friend Bryan Drowos. As should be obvious from this promotion, he is excellent at what he does. On top of that, I have known him for several years, and on top of that, he is a really great guy and a dedicated philanthropist- not to mention a snappy dresser!

I dealt with this joker once before. As attorneys we are put in a position of trust, and expected to be responsible. I remember reading about this case when it first came to light- and I was absolutely blown away by the sheer irresponsibility!

In what the state Supreme Court called an egregious case Randall Gilbert hired a convicted fraudster without question fired him for stealing then rehired him and put him in charge of the law firm's finances.
