My major practice areas are Criminal Defense and Family Law, and we also prepare Wills, Power of Attorney, Medical Directives, and handle related matters. I am a sole practitioner dedicated to providing professional excellence to my clients and the practice of law. In preparation for such dedication, I earned degrees from The Univ

ersity of Alabama School of law (J.D.), Appalachian State University (M.A., Political Science - International Relations and Comparative Politics), and Auburn University (Double Major - B.A., Political Science, B.A., Spanish). I have worked on factory floors, done landscape construction and maintenance at residential, commercial, and collegiate athletic levels, worked in restaurants, hotels, retail stores, worked as a traveling researcher on Alabama tax projects, and labored on a Colorado trail crew for the United States Forest Service. Prior to establishing my own law firm, I worked as an associate attorney with Kenneth D. Bruce, LLC (formerly Bruce & Thompson) after Don Thompson was appointed by Governor Nathan Deal as Superior Court Judge in the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit. Bruce, he worked as an associate attorney with the Office of the Public Defender in the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit for more than seven years, gaining extensive experience defending people charged with all manner of misdemeanors and all manner of felonies, from DUI to drugs, theft, s*x, and violence.

Chattooga County Offices will be closed on Friday, January 10, 2025.

Chattooga County is coordinating with Atrium Health, Emergency Management Agency, Georgia Department of Transportation, local Public Works Departments, and all surrounding municipalities. Private contractors will also be in place with equipment to assist with any weather event cleaning.

County crews will start pretreating roads at lunchtime tomorrow.
Georgia Department of Transportation will begin pretreating state roads at 7:00 p.m. tonight.

County equipment will be staged in all sections of county to shorten response time for service.

Atrium Health will be sending extra resources to be prepared for the weather event.

During the early morning hours on Friday, January 10, 2025, inclement weather is expected in Northwest Georgia. Chattooga County along with the National Weather Service Forecast is requesting everyone to shelter in place and limit travel to necessity as the inclement weather arrives.

Chattooga County Offices will be closed on Friday, January 10, 2025. Public Works crews will be working throughout this entire weather event. Please take caution and stay safe and watch out for crews working in your area.

To report any trees down, please call 706-857-3400. Public Works will be in constant contact with 911 to clear any obstructions as soon as possible.

Stay tuned to local media. The Summerville News, AM1180/FM 99.1 and All on Georgia will get updates to share with the public as they arise.

Attention Glacier Bay boaters! For the 2025 boater season, the park will pilot a new private boater permitting lottery system to issue permits, changing both when and how private boater permits are issued. January 1-January 31, 2025 is the first open period for submitting an Advance-Notice Permit application. Visit the Glacier Bay website private boating page (https://www.nps.gov/glba/planyourvisit/boating.htm) for more info and to fill out an application.
