What do people actually remember about working with a law firm?

Not the filings. Katouchka P.'s five star review is about communication: kept informed, questions answered, supported every step of the way.

That is not a legal skill, and it is the thing clients feel first. We are grateful for it, and grateful to her for saying it publicly.

Athletes have 2 ways to protect their NIL from unauthorized use.

First, register your company's name, logo, symbols, or any combination of them with the USPTO.

Second, if you believe someone is using your name, image and likeness commercially without permission, hire an experienced sports and entertainment attorney. That claim is brought under Florida Statute section 540.08, and Paul M. Aloise, Jr. handles them at The Rubin Firm.

An NIL deal does not cost a college athlete NCAA eligibility on its own.

What can cost it is skipping the steps that come with the deal.

What happens when one partner wants to settle and the other does not?

It becomes a second dispute sitting on top of the first one, and it is usually the one that does the lasting damage to the business.

Where the authority to settle actually sits is normally a question about the documents that set the company up, and about what the owners agreed to before any of this started. That is worth knowing before an offer arrives rather than after.

A domain being free tells you almost nothing about the trademark.

They are different questions with different answers, and only one of them stops somebody making you change the name later.

Trademark availability turns on whether a confusingly similar mark is already being used for related goods or services. That is a search, and it takes judgment to read the results.

8 hours in custody is required. Everything after that is not.

That is the shape of a first time DUI in Florida, and the two halves get confused constantly.

The eight hour hold after arrest is fixed. The sentence is not: Florida imposes no legal requirement of jail on a first time DUI conviction.

The Rubin Firm defends DUI cases in Stuart and across the Treasure Coast. What decides the outcome is the specific facts, the plea you ultimately enter or the verdict at trial, and the sentence a judge imposes.

Being partly at fault does not automatically end a Florida injury claim.

It does give the other side something to work with, which is why the admission gets collected early and quietly, often in the first phone call after a crash.

An apology is not an allocation of fault. Neither is a diagram drawn from memory at the roadside.

The Rubin Firm looks at what the evidence supports rather than what you said while you were shaken.

Our office is in Stuart. The practice runs the whole state.

Both halves of that matter. Local means you can walk in, and it means the lawyers know the courthouses, the roads and the people who work in them.

Statewide means a matter does not have to be handed off when it grows.

Five practice areas, one office, one phone number. (772) 283-2004.

[Also, yes, we need a new sign!]

Can a high school athlete in Florida sign an NIL deal?

Yes. As the law sits today, high school and collegiate athletes in Florida can both participate in NIL and earn compensation for the commercial use of their name, image and likeness.

That is newer than most families realize. Florida high school athletes could only start profiting from NIL after the law changed in 2024.

Paul M. Aloise, Jr. handles these agreements at The Rubin Firm.

Emotional harm is not a lesser injury in the eyes of a Florida jury.

It is harder to see and harder to document, which is a different problem from being worth less. Where the conduct is extreme and the harm is proved, juries have said so plainly.

$5,000,000, intentional infliction of emotional distress, handled by Paul M. Aloise, Jr. and Todd Norbraten.

Past results do not guarantee future outcomes.
