A new USCIS rule could change how immigration forms are filed, but it does not immediately end paper filing across the board.

USCIS may require online filing for eligible forms after providing public notice and an additional 60-day grace period. Until a form-specific requirement takes effect, applicants, families, and employers should follow the current filing instructions for each form.

Once online filing becomes mandatory, using the wrong filing method could result in rejection.
