The Pocono Mountains Association of Realtors supports a Pennsyvlania bill that would create special savings accounts for First Time Homebuyers.

House Bill 818 and Senate Bill 803 would establish a First Time Homebuyer Savings Account Program in Pennsylvania. The program would provide a tax advantaged way for Pennsylvanians to save toward the purchase of their first home. These bills would provide future homeowners with a practical tool to overcome one of the greatest barriers to homeownership, saving for the upfront costs of purchasing a home.

Similar programs have been established in several other states. Supporters estimate that creating the program in Pennsylvania could lead to as many as 4,000 additional home purchases each year while generating new economic activity, jobs, and tax revenue.

Thank you to all of our community members and supporters who made our storm relief grant distribution a success! We helped many local families recover from storm damage expenses.

Thank you to the Realtors Relief Foundation for providing the $50,000 in funding.

Thank you to our volunteer PMAR members who donated their time to help families apply and to evaluate applications.

Thank you to Monroe County Office of Emergency Management-Monroe County, PA for your tireless work in helping us to identify eligible homeowners and coordinating to help as many people as possible.

Thank you to the Monroe County Pennsylvania commissioners for providing logistical support.

Also, a huge thank you to the Pocono Mountains Association of REALTORS® DEI Committee for coming up with the idea to put a Blessing Box outside of our office and doing the work to make the dream a reality.

Thanks to the Realtors Relief Foundation, we were able to help Monroe County families recover from storm damage. RFF provided $50,000 for Pocono families who had damage from July's massive storms.
