WHAT TYPES OF CASES CANNOT BE HANDLED ON A CONTINGENCY FEE?
While personal injury cases are usually handled on a contingency fee, family law matters, such as divorce, child custody, and child support, cannot not handled on contingency. That means that instead of the law firm being paid a percentage of what you collect, you will be asked to pay a retainer fee initially, and the attorney's work is billed against that retainer fee. The bar associations of all states prohibit contingency fee arrangements in family law cases. At Ellis Hoyle Law LLC, we offer decades of legal experience and charge a retainer fee that is generally much lower that other firms offering similar services and legal experience.
