To the citizens of the City of Starke, my name is Bill Murray and I am seeking the position of Police Chief in the upcoming election in August. I have been a longtime resident of Starke and graduated from Bradford High School in 1981. After graduation I joined the Florida National Guard (Served 10 years). In 1991, I began my career in law enforcement as a Police Officer with the Starke Police Department for 13 years and held the ranks of Patrolman, Corporal, Sergeant.
In 2009, I became employed with the Bradford County Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy Sheriff for 12 years and held the ranks of Deputy, Sergeant.
I am currently enrolled with Vincennes University completing an Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.
From 1991 until present, I have received advanced law enforcement training in the areas of; K-9, Criminal Investigation, Narcotics, DUI Enforcement and Line Supervision, Field Training Officer, to name a few.
I currently reside in Starke with my wife Brena. We are the blessed parents of 3 sons, Brent (wife Malory), Brett (wife Alex), Brad, daughter Savannah and granddaughter Brentley.
