Across the country, Public Interest Law Groups (PILG) are committed organizations of lawyers and law students focused on bringing about change and promoting the well-being of any given community. Each PILG organization is a little different and has different goals, but they all have at least one very common characteristic - volunteerism. As a SLU LAW student organization, we strive to do our part
in the community by providing numerous volunteer opportunities to all students such as the Light the Night, Stand Down/Sweats for Vets, as well as by hosting fundraising events like the PILG Auction and the Ambulance Chase in which some of the money we raise goes to students taking non-paid, public interest internships who could not afford to do so otherwise. Saint Louis University School of Law was founded in 1843 and is the oldest Law School west of the Mississippi River. The strength of the faculty, breadth of course offerings and extensive clinical and professional skills experience provide students with a well-rounded legal education.
