For too long, workers have done everything right: organized, voted for a union, and stood together for a better future, only to watch employers drag out contract negotiations for months or even years.

The Faster Labor Contracts Act is a major step toward fixing that.

Right now, workers wait an average of 465 days to secure a first union contract. This legislation puts an end to delay tactics by requiring employers to come to the bargaining table, establishing clear timelines for negotiations, and ensuring workers can finally secure the wages, benefits, and protections they voted for.

A union election should mean something. When workers choose a union, they deserve a fair contract, not endless stalling.

The House has done its job. Now it's time for the Senate to stand with working families and get this bill across the finish line.

The House has approved a bill to slash the time it takes for newly unionized workers to get a first contract. The measure allows for government intervention if a deal is not reached within 90 days.

Estate planning arranges for the transfer of an individual's estate at the time of death. An estate consists of all property owned at death before it is distributed by will, trust, or intestacy laws. An estate may contain both real property (real estate, including houses and investment properties) and personal property (all other property, including bank accounts, securities, jewelry and automobiles). Typically, the process of estate planning involves extensive consultation with a number of professional advisors, including lawyers, financial counselors, accountants and life insurance representatives.
