A great day on the green for an even greater cause⛳️💚

Last week, Bacon Wilson attorneys Ken Albano, Ben Coyle, Tyler Humphrey, and Cameron Hunter hit the course at Twin Hills Country Club for the YMCA of Greater Springfield Golf Classic.

This annual event brings together local businesses and community members in support of the YMCA's scholarship program, helping make its programs and services more accessible to individuals and families throughout our community.

We are proud to support an organization that makes such a meaningful difference in Greater Springfield. A special thank you to the YMCA team for organizing another wonderful event, and to our attorneys for representing Bacon Wilson on the course!

Today we recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day, a time to honor and celebrate the rich histories, cultures, traditions, and lasting contributions of Indigenous peoples and communities.

At Bacon Wilson, we join in recognizing the importance of this day and reflecting on the enduring impact of Indigenous peoples throughout our nation’s history.

In observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, all Bacon Wilson offices will be closed on Monday, October 12. We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, October 13.

Bacon Wilson, P.C. is pleased to announce that attorneys Gerrit “Gary” D. DeYoung and Yujie “Giana” Wang have joined the firm as Associates, further strengthening the firm’s Litigation and Estate Planning and Probate practice areas.

Gary DeYoung joins Bacon Wilson’s Litigation Department, returning to the firm after previously serving as a Bacon Wilson Law Clerk during the 2024–2025 Law Clerk Program. DeYoung brings valuable experience from the Massachusetts Land Court in Boston, where he served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Sarah Turano-Flores. In this role, he conducted legal research, prepared memoranda, and advised the Court on a variety of legal issues. During law school, DeYoung interned with the Honorable Katherine A. Robertson of the U.S. District Court in Springfield and the Honorable Diane Rubin at the Massachusetts Land Court. He also served as Executive Editor of the Journal of Trial and Appellate Advocacy.

DeYoung earned his Juris Doctor, magna cm laude, from Suffolk University Law School in 2025. He also holds a Ph.D. from Boston University’s Wheelock College of Education & Human Development, a Master of Arts from Boston University’s College of Arts and Sciences, and a Bachelor of Arts, cm laude, from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Admitted to practice in Massachusetts, DeYoung is a member of the Hampden County Bar Association and Real Estate Bar Association. His academic honors include the Jurisprudence Awards in Land Use Law and Administrative Law, the Legal Practice Skills Best Oral Advocate Award, and membership on the Moot Court Honor Board. His published works include The 2024 Climate Act: Reducing Barriers to Speed Renewable Energy Development and The State Giveth, the State Taketh Away: State Law, Local Housing Production, and the Right to Appeal.

Yujie “Giana” Wang joins Bacon Wilson’s Estate Planning and Probate Department, where her practice focuses on helping individuals and families navigate estate planning and elder law matters. Drawing on her prior experience in psychological counseling and social services, Wang brings a thoughtful, client-centered perspective to her practice, with an emphasis on understanding each client’s goals, concerns, family dynamics, and individual circumstances.

Wang earned her Juris Doctor from Cornell Law School in 2025, where she served as Forum Editor of the Cornell International Law Journal. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles. Wang is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and New York.

Wang also brings significant pro bono experience to the firm. She has provided legal assistance to LGBTQ+ individuals through the Volunteer Lawyers Project of CNY, Inc., including consultations and assistance with name-change matters. She participated in the Reentry Pro Bono Project, providing services addressing civil legal barriers faced by individuals with criminal records. Her experience
also includes volunteer work with Family Rescue in China and helping develop “Teny,” a tenants’ rights chatbot and AI resource for a Tenants Advocacy Hotline.

Fialky. “Both bring impressive academic backgrounds, valuable experience, and a strong commitment to serving clients. This past weekend, Bacon Wilson was proud to support the annual Cutchins Superhero Run, benefiting Cutchins Programs for Children & Families and the incredible work they do for children and families throughout Western Massachusetts.

A special shoutout to attorneys Conor Carey and Ryan O’Hara for representing Team Bacon Wilson! Both spent time helping out at our vendor table and participating in the day’s festivities — and congratulations are especially in order for Ryan, who finished 3rd in the Men’s 10K! 🥉👏

Cutchins provides integrative mental health care, therapeutic special education, residential and outpatient care, community-based programs, and neurodiversity services across Western Massachusetts. We’re grateful for the opportunity to support their mission and be part of such a fun and meaningful community event.

🎉 Celebrating 25 Years at Bacon Wilson! 🎉

Twenty-five years ago, on Monday, October 1, 2001, Attorneys Donna L. Wexler and Francis R. Mirkin joined Bacon Wilson’s Residential Real Estate Department. This week we are proud to celebrate this incredible career milestone and 25 years of their dedication to our firm, our clients, and the communities we serve.

Donna, who now serves as Chair of our Residential Real Estate Department, summed up the milestone perfectly: “I guess time flies when you’re having fun!”

Reflecting on his 25 years with the firm, Fran shared: “The decision to come here has proven to be an excellent professional decision for me with respect to every important metric of career satisfaction, starting with the people.”

For a quarter of a century, Donna and Fran have each played an important role in the growth and success of Bacon Wilson and our Residential Real Estate practice. We are incredibly grateful for the experience, commitment, and collegiality they have brought to the firm over the years.

⛳️ We had a blast last week at the Realtor Association of Pioneer Valley's 35th Annual Charitable Golf Tournament at Twin Hills Country Club!

Bacon Wilson was proud to be the Hole-in-One Air Cannon Sponsor for the day, and we had so much fun spending time out on the course, connecting with golfers, and supporting a great event.
