Attorney Chris Britt has an active role in the community as a commissioner for the Spokane City Plan Commission. The March 8th meeting was a tour of the City Line battery-electric bus route. Members were encouraged to bring their families to ride the City Line buses to see firsthand the benefits of all the hard work and planning. This rapid transit line is a long time coming. The vision of City Line had been in the works by community partners for over 15 years before funding approval. City Line provides flexible and cost-effective transportation—a great need in the Spokane community. The City Line service will launch in July of this year. Real estate trusts are often used for estate planning purposes, as they can help avoid probate and simplify property transfer to heirs. They can also provide privacy and protection for the property, as the trust agreement is not a matter of public record.

There are several different types of real estate trusts, but two of the most common are:
✨Living trusts: These are created during the trustor's lifetime (the person making the trust) and can be revocable or irrevocable.
✨Testamentary trusts: These are created through a person's will and only come into effect after the trustor's death.

Laws regarding real estate trusts can vary by state, so it's essential to consult with an experienced estate planning or real estate attorney to determine the best type of trust for your specific needs and circumstances.

A Power of Attorney is a legal document that allows you (the principal) to give another person (the agent or attorney-in-fact) the authority to act on your behalf. For example, the agent is typically given the power to make decisions, sign documents, and take other actions you specify.

If you want to ensure your affairs are handled in the event of your incapacitation or death, a Power of Attorney can be a valuable tool to meet your goals. Therefore, it is essential to choose a trustworthy and reliable agent and ensure that your document is appropriately executed per state laws.
