WBM Attorney Brian Werst attended the 2026 Airports Council International-North America Spring Legal Affairs Conference in Coronado, California. The conference brings together airport legal professionals and consultants to identify and discuss the most pressing legal developments and issues associated with the airport industry.

Based on his experience as General County to the Spokane Airport Board, Brian participated on three panels with industry-leading attorneys regarding the FAA’s Revenue Use Policy, litigation update, and the always fun Roundtable, where anything and everything involving airports is open for discussion. This was a great conference with amazing attorneys and friends.

While “attending the conference,” Brian joined 19 other lawyers and friends to watch the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres at Petco Park. There is truly nothing better than watching baseball in an incredible setting with great people!

Guess who brought home the victory at the golf event for the Hospice of Spokane? That's right, our amazing team clinched the win with an incredible adjusted score of 36! We added to the charitable event by purchasing enhancements to lower our score, all in support of a fantastic cause. Witherspoon Brajcich McPhee is excited to announce that attorney Julia Schoffstall joined our team on July 25, 2024. Julia most recently worked as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Kootenai County Idaho for the past five years. During her time there, Julia’s caseload focused on complex felony prosecutions and trials, including crimes against children and homicides. Prior to moving to Idaho, she worked in Virginia as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in Emporia/Greensville County for two and a half years and for King George County for seven months. She also served as a Magistrate in the 11th Judicial District, Region 3 for the Supreme Court of Virginia for a little over a year. Julia is licensed in Idaho and Washington and will be working primarily out of the Coeur d’Alene office. Julia brings a wealth of experience and positive energy to our team.

Before returning to Spokane, he practiced civil litigation and appeals for five years in Western Colorado and clerked in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Jon's professional and personal qualities make him an exceptional addition to our firm.

Throughout his career, he has helped both startups and established businesses raise debt and equity capital from investors. He also negotiates mergers, acquisitions, and sales of public and private businesses, helping clients conduct over 100 M&A transactions valued at over $1.2 billion during the past 23 years. Rick also handles entity formation and regulatory compliance issues and advises many local boards of directors regarding fiduciary duties and corporate governance matters. In addition, he prepares and negotiates complex licensing, distribution and service agreements for clients in multiple industries.
