Congrats to Lewis and Clark students Korbin Hamlin (left) and Lucas Cahow (right) on winning this year's John Clark Legal Argument Competition! As a part of the Tom Foley Debate Tournament, these high schoolers prepared a criminal argument in a mock trial situation. Their advocacy earned Korbin a $1,000 scholarship from Clark Law, and earned Lucas a $500 scholarship from Hagara Law, another criminal defense firm in Spokane Valley.

My Dad loved recruiting lawyers and judges to help facilitate this competition every year, and I love getting to carry on that piece of his legacy. Congrats again to Korbin and Lucas!

When I started this company, I wanted it to be more than just a law firm: I wanted it to be an engine for positive change in the community. Today, we took one step in that direction, by making donations to two very deserving programs.

Liberty Creek Elementary's Character Crew brings together K-2 students, to teach the younger kids about each month's chosen personality trait, and give them a friend they can turn to at school.

West Valley High School's baseball team was recently the victim of a theft, where some new supplies were stolen from the team's field.

By making these donations, we hope that we can make the lives of the kids in our community a little bit better. Go Explorers, and go Eagles!

You get a DUI, you got to court on time, you do everything the Court tells you, and you even get the case dismissed.

Then, your driver's license gets suspended for two years.

Why? Beause every Washington State DUI also has a second proceeding, called the Department of Licensing Administrative Hearing, which is separate from your criminal case, which only serves to suspend your license. Read more about this frequently overlooked hearing in our latest blog.
