Several of these are good tips, but I would disagree with others, depending on the circumstance. The biggest tip would be to have a very direct and open conversation with your estate planning attorney about your goals regarding end of life and estate planning so your attorney can provide you with the best advice and options. It's definitely not once-size-fits-all.

Your will doesn’t have to include every asset you own.

The estate planning and probate world is often filled with drama and intrigue.

The executor of O.J. Simpson’s estate says he will work to prevent a payout of a $33.5 million judgment stemming from a wrongful death lawsuit filed years ago by the families of Simpson’s ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.

Estate Planning Tip - Washington state has an estate tax separate from the federal estate tax. An estate tax is assessed at the time of death and paid by the estate. Each person has an exemption of about $2.2M, but if you’re married and don’t do proper planning, you’ll lose one person’s exemption and only end up able to transfer $2.2M free of tax down to kids and grandkids. The estate tax takes into consideration all assets wherever located (but deducts assets outside of Washington state in a weird way which ends up, including them partially). With proper planning, a married couple can exempt up to $4.4M.

It’s time for some Spokane appreciation posts! Spokane has some incredible restaurants, parks, activities, and other resources. We get calls for new estate planning (wills, trusts, powers of attorney, etc) from a number of people moving to Spokane from out of state especially as we move into spring and summer and it’s fun to share some of our favorite places with them to explore.

The first spot to highlight is . A delicious Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Asian fusion restaurant with tasty appetizers and cocktails. I don’t think I’ve had anything yet that I didn’t love. Yesterday, I only managed to get a picture of my drink, but also had several delicious happy hour apps as well. Their restaurant week menu looked amazing.
