Thank you to Jolyn and The Grapevine Wellness Show for the opportunity to share this story.

One of the most meaningful estate planning meetings of my career happened in a borrowed mobile home.

A daughter called our office in tears just before closing. Her father was on his deathbed. He had no house, no car, and almost no assets left to his name. In practical terms, he didn't need a will.

But he wanted one.

We grabbed a laptop and a printer and drove to his home. We sat beside his bed, read his wishes back to him, and helped him sign his will.

Less than an hour later, he passed away.

What he needed wasn't a legal document. What he needed was the chance to say one final thing:

"I don't have a damn thing, but I did it all for the two of you."

That was his legacy.

Estate planning isn't just about money, houses, or investments. Sometimes it's about making sure the people you love know what mattered to you, and giving yourself the peace of knowing your wishes have been heard.

As I share in this video, documenting your wishes is a gift to your loved ones, a gift to yourself, and a gift to the world.

One of the most expensive estate planning mistakes is believing things that simply aren't true.
