Fort Worth just got a huge $540 million Texas A&M campus.

On August 5th, 2026, the school opened its first building and broke ground on a second. The first building is an 8-story academic center at 300 East 15th Street. It's over 228,000 square feet, which is about 5 football fields of space, and it has a giant glass wall so you can watch a working courtroom from the sidewalk.

But the law school only takes up half the building. The rest holds nursing labs, business classes, and aviation programs, which brings programs from Texas A&M, Tarleton State, and six Texas A&M System agencies together under one roof.

And that $240 million building isn't even the biggest part. They also broke ground on an 11-story, $300 million research tower next door, which is designed to let researchers and private companies work side-by-side starting in 2029.

But this is just the beginning. The university plans to build 3 more buildings here, and they could break ground on the next one in 7 to 9 months.

Frisco is getting a massive $800 million luxury shopping district from the developer of Legacy West.

It's called Fields West, and it sits on 55 acres off the Tollway — which is about 40 football fields of land, right across from the Universal Kids Resort.

Even though the doors won't open for over a year, they already leased out 75% of the space to 44 signed shops and restaurants. We're talking huge brands like Sephora, Lululemon, and Bloomie’s — which is a new, smaller version of Bloomingdale’s.

But one specific name is the real standout. Mastro’s Steakhouse is opening its first-ever location in the Dallas-Fort Worth area right here.

But this isn't just a place to shop. The developers are building 1,150 luxury apartments mixed in with the shops, plus 350,000 square feet of office space, using a walkable layout that's very similar to Legacy West.

Crews are already building on site, and they're aiming to open the first phase in late 2027, with the goal of finishing the rest in early 2028.

A huge $160 million luxury resort could be coming to the Fort Worth Stockyards.

Because the area is so packed, you'd wonder where they'd fit it.

The proposal sits along 1,000 feet of Marine Creek, right behind Mule Alley, which would create a new gateway from the south.

The plans call for two hotels on a 3-acre site, which is about the size of 3 football fields. But the plans don't just call for hotel rooms.

If approved, the resort would feature 225 rooms, a 3-level underground garage, a rooftop restaurant, and a creekside pool.

So why bring a resort this big right now?

The Stockyards went from drawing 3.4 million annual visitors in 2018 to over 10 million in 2025.

The developers behind this actually helped lead the design of Mule Alley and Hotel Drover, and they've partnered with Woodbine Development to build it.

On August 5th, a local tax board approved up to $8.5 million for public improvements like a new creek walk and plaza, not the private hotels. They're targeting a fall 2027 groundbreaking, and want to open in spring 2030.

Six Flags Over Texas just opened a huge 309-foot roller coaster that breaks six world records.

They call it Tormenta, and at 30 stories tall, it's one of only 8 giant coasters of this scale on earth. It lifts you up, holds you over the edge for 3 seconds, and drops you 285 feet at 95 degrees—which actually tilts you slightly past straight down as you hit 87 miles per hour. These numbers help Tormenta break 6 world records, making it the tallest, fastest, and longest dive coaster on earth.

But the ride itself isn't even the biggest change to this part of the park.

They rebuilt the entire Spain section into a new themed village called Rancho de la Tormenta. They closed a 44-year-old swinging boat ride called the Conquistador to make room, but left hidden nods to it nearby. And this is the interesting part. A Swiss firm designed the ride, but a local builder based in Fort Worth named H3 Construction did all the actual building using local workers.

Park leaders call this the largest single investment in the park's history. It opened on July 9th, just in time for their 65th anniversary as the original Six Flags park.

A huge brand new H-E-B just opened in Murphy.

When the doors opened at 6:00 AM on July 22nd, more than 1,100 people were already waiting in a line that stretched down the block.

So what did they actually build inside that made people show up in the middle of the night?

They built a grocery store that feels more like a high-end food hall. Inside, you'll find a Texas barbecue restaurant, a fresh sushi bar, and warm tortillas made right in front of you.

But Murphy isn't the only town getting one.

This is actually H-E-B's 3rd grand opening in our area in just 3 months, coming right after Euless and Irving.

They've even purchased land at Hillcrest and LBJ for their first-ever location inside the city limits of Dallas.

So if you don't have an H-E-B near your house yet, you likely will very soon.

A huge $135 million entertainment district is breaking ground in Arlington.

It's the new face of the old Lincoln Square shopping center, right next to AT&T Stadium in an area that gets 15 million visitors a year. If you live here, you've probably driven past this corner a hundred times.

Instead of tearing everything down, builders are clearing 70,000 square feet and updating the rest. Groundbreaking starts August 3rd, 2026, and by early 2028, it'll hold 404,000 square feet of updated storefronts, new restaurants, and a central green space. That's a total footprint about the size of 7 football fields.

So why did the city step in to help pay for this?

Between 2015 and 2021, property values inside the center fell 12% while the surrounding land shot up 50%. That slide was costing the city about $1 million a year, so they approved over $24 million to help fund new streets, lights, and landscaping.

And more could be on the way. The city just approved plans to buy a 2-acre parcel on the site for a future office building.

Burleson's first-ever $1 billion neighborhood just broke ground.

They're turning 800 acres of land into a mini-city, which is about the size of 600 football fields. Crews have already paved 2 miles of roads and laid 2.5 miles of sewer lines to get the site ready. The plan is to build 2,500 homes right next to a brand-new walkable town center with shops and restaurants.

Here's where it gets interesting. Prices start in the $290,000s and go up to $1 million. Finding a brand-new home in DFW for under $300,000 is almost impossible, and they're about to release the first 376 lots to builders.

The lifestyle here is the real draw. You're getting over 100 acres of parks, 10 miles of walking trails, and a real equestrian center where you can keep and ride horses. You're also less than 2 miles from Chisholm Trail Parkway, so you can ride trails in the morning and drive into Fort Worth in 20 minutes.

Since construction just started, you can get in early and pick the best lots before everyone else finds out.

A $701 million development is coming to downtown Fort Worth.

To build it, the city is tearing down the famous 1968 arena in early 2027.

Superstars like Elvis, Led Zeppelin, and BTS all performed inside this dome, and local families watched their kids graduate here for 58 years.

But the plan is actually to replace it with a massive upgrade.

The city is building a new 4-story convention center with a 40,000 square foot ballroom, which is nearly the size of a football field.

They're even designing the main tower to match the historic Tarrant County Courthouse just down the street.

So how can you see this place one last time?

The city is hosting a free public farewell party on September 20, 2026, with live music and historic displays.

A $325 million mega-development just broke ground in Plano.

Crews just started clearing about 26 acres of land at the Dallas North Tollway and Spring Creek Parkway, right south of Legacy West.

This property measures about 20 football fields in size, and it'll hold nearly 290,000 square feet of shopping and dining space.

So what's actually opening here?

The developers just announced the first tenants, and they're bringing brands that have never existed in North Texas before.

You're getting Costera Cocina Tulum, an upscale Mexican restaurant from Chicago, and Bar Italia, a popular spot from Florida and Ohio.

Plus, CRÚ Food & Wine Bar is relocating here after more than 20 years at the Shops at Legacy.

But these brands didn't choose this corner by accident.

A single family owned this land for nearly 100 years, and it's one of the last open spots on the Tollway.

Plus, nearly 1 million people live within a 15-minute drive of here, and the average household income is over $140,000 a year.

They plan to finish the first phase in late 2027.
