Private school can become a major issue when parents divorce.

Who decides whether a child remains in private school? What happens if one parent wants private school and the other prefers public school? And even if one parent has certain educational decision-making rights, does that automatically mean the other parent must pay part of the tuition?

These can be separate questions under Texas family law.

For families already paying private-school tuition, the issue can involve much more than the basic tuition bill.
