Real estate is not for the faint of heart or for the sensitive nose sometimes.

Let's get real. Everyone's house smells sometimes whether it is from cooking, rotting food in the fridge, dirty diapers or dishes, pets or... The thing is that sometimes we become so accustomed to these smells that we don't realize there is a problem.

Buyers don't enjoy the smells I mentioned above (unless you just baked some cookies or cinnamon rolls). They actually prefer no smell. No, they don't like to smell the floral scent from the candle or the maple smell from your room freshener. Buyers may wonder what you're trying to hide if there is too much of that.

When you prepare your home to sell, be sure to give it the sniff test and borrow your friend's nose to make sure there is nothing to sniff about. Air it out, clean it out, or throw it out.

My husband has the best sniffer, give us a call, and I'll bring him over for the sniff test. ๐Ÿ˜‰

2. Radon test (It's invisible and odorless)
3. M**h test (No matter how nice or new the home is. It's also invisible and odorless)
