If you are in HR or a similar position in Georgia, Florida or Alabama, please take notice that your Title VII rights to engage in protected activity against your employer may be limited with the recent 11th Circuit ruling in my case decided yesterday. The Court has held that Title VII's opposition clause protections may be restricted based on your job duties and whether or not you have been "loyal" to your employer. This was a devastating loss, but the fight is not over. We will likely be headed to the Supreme Court of the United States as this opinion is a huge blow to all employees in this Circuit.
