No, this isn’t normal.
And no, you are not crazy for feeling disturbed.

What has surfaced around Epstein and the people in his orbit is horrifying not because it involves one party or another, but because it cuts across them. Power recognized power. Status protected status.

These are not movie monsters. They are people — mostly men, sometimes women — who operated inside an ideology that told them their influence mattered more than someone else’s safety.

For many Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color, this moment carries a bitter familiarity. Exploitation, disbelief, and institutions circling the wagons are not new chapters. What feels new is who is finally being asked to look.

It is also fair to notice how slowly major outlets and institutions can move when stories implicate powerful people. It can grow out of access journalism, fear of legal exposure, corporate incentives, and very human instincts to protect careers and relationships.

But hesitation does not make the harm smaller. When truth is uncomfortable, timidity can start to look like complicity.

And it leaves us with real, uncomfortable questions:

If our leaders move comfortably in spaces where they are actively harming children, how can they claim moral authority over the public?
How can we trust them to represent us on the world stage? Is this how we want to be portrayed?

What would accountability look like if it truly reached upward instead of downward?

Cynicism says, “They will get away with it.”

History says change happens when ordinary people refuse to look away.

You are allowed to be shaken.
You are allowed to demand better.
And you are not crazy.

Change is coming.

Raven Community Fund page is live thanks to our acting Exec Director, Justin. Although a separate entity from Mouw Law, Raven was born from the same vision.

I plan to donate through contingency fee wins, which includes personal injury and institutional harm cases to fund access to civil cases for those who can’t afford it. I think other attorneys will see that’s the right thing to do, too.

South Dakota is the bottom of the Access to Justice lists, a legal desert. It’s devestating and as attorneys we can’t pretend we don’t see it.

Contributions are trickling in, so join the conspiracy against injustice.

The Raven Community Fund provides community-funded legal access for families facing institutional harm and violence. Donations are tax-deductible through our fiscal sponsor.

The City of Sioux Falls sprayed my family’s pollinator plants this fall with no notice.

My daughter loved those sunflowers, I loved the clovers, and we hate pesticides.

This has happened to countless other Sioux Falls families.

This journey is only beginning, but you can follow along with the briefs, comms, filings, and timeline for the “Clover Case” or submit your own story of questionable municiple enforcement at

To be abundantly clear where my practice stands:

this was a talk I helped bring to my law school in 2024. My work is rooted in dignity, accountability, and the belief that all people deserve safety-without exception.

If we followed this talk up in 2026, it might look like an exploration of how international militarization, surveillance practices, and border enforcement models influence each other-and how law can either reinforce harm or interrupt it.

I operate on the belief that all oppression is connected.

My space is for intersection, not hate.

People lie.
Patterns don’t.

Anyone who’s worked with families knows this,
we just don’t always say it out loud.

For years, I’ve watched courts, parents, and children struggle under conflicting stories, scattered timelines, and overwhelming emotion.

But underneath all of it, there is always a pattern.

Patterns in behavior.
Patterns in nervous-system responses.
Patterns in escalation, avoidance, disclosure, and impact.

And those patterns tell the truth long before anyone does.

☀️Today, I’m launching something built exactly for that:

The Vay’Mark System™

Mouw Law’s pattern-forensic method for family conflict.

Not intuition.
Not guesswork.
Not “he said / she said.”

A structured, evidence-grounded way to see what actually happened across time — using maps, trajectories, and corroboration grids that cut through the noise.

This work supports:

• Guardian ad Litem cases
• Parental Coordination
• High-conflict parenting matters
• Survivor-centered reviews
• Attorneys & therapists
• Anyone who needs clarity inside the fog

And for families who don’t need long-term coordination but do need clarity:

PICR™ — Pattern-Informed Conflict Resolution

A data-driven snapshot of why things keep breaking down…and what the pattern actually shows.

If you’ve ever wished someone could just map the whole thing out, this was built for you.

If you work with families or children and want to understand how pattern analysis changes outcomes, I’d love to connect.

🤍And thank you to everyone who has walked, taught, witnessed, or supported any part of this journey. This system came from lived experience, decades of observation, and the deep belief that the truth is always there…
you just have to know where to look.

The Vay’Mark System™ is Mouw Law’s proprietary pattern-recognition framework for Guardian ad Litem work, Parental Coordination, and conflict resolution. We decode timelines, behaviors, and relational patterns to reveal the truth with clarity and trauma-informed precision.

We filed a constitutional response brief to the City of Sioux Falls regarding our Clover Case this morning.

Not just because our family planted pollinator habitat.
Not just because of a citation.
Not just because of landscaping.

Because due process matters.

Because the Constitution doesn’t say:
“Protections for the compliant only.”

It says:
Your rights do not evaporate when the government disapproves of your choices.

This work is bigger than our yard.
It’s about how power is wielded, how citizens are heard, and whether regular families can afford to challenge a system.

As we continue building The Raven Community Fund to support families navigating legal processes, especially those without easy access to representation — these truths guide us:

✨ Justice should be accessible.
✨ Advocacy should be human.
✨ Systems should serve the people who live within them.

Thank you to everyone walking with us. More soon.

🌲 The Bear Necessities Angel Tree is officially up at Mouw Law! 🐾

This tradition started in 2016 to honor our dog Bear. This year, after Orson crossed the 🌈 rainbow bridge and in celebration of opening the firm, we’re bringing back The Bear Necessities Angel Tree in full force.

All December long, we’re collecting new or gently used animal supplies for the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society — honoring Bear, Orson, and every animal who’s held a piece of our hearts.

From blankets, durable toys, training treats, Science Diet food, cleaning staples, to the everyday supplies shelters burn through — every donation helps a local pet stay warm, fed, and cared for this winter.

(We double-checked the 2025 Wish List so everything you give goes exactly where it’s needed! Please, no 🚫 Rope toys, pillows, cedar/pine bedding!)

🎄 Drop-off: December 3-31
🕒 Hours: Mon–Fri • 9–4
📍 Location: 1417 A Ave , Sioux Falls

Some Saturday dates/times will be posted ✨here✨ later this month.
