Everyone’s been told to read the fine print, but what if a customer doesn’t get that fine print until after a service is already completed and then ends up having a problem? Montgomery County’s Office of Consumer Protection is warning customers about such language.

800+ Marylanders have filed complaints with the federal government about their consumer reports since the start of 2022. But only 2% of consumers who contest their report get relief. We need to protect consumers and ensure that they aren't being hurt by inaccuracies on screening reports used by potential employers, landlords, and lenders. That's why I'm sponsoring HB 251, which was heard in the House Economic Matters Committee today.
