"Hi everyone, a heads up from a friend who was just driving to work in DC from MD a few minutes ago: 1-2 dozen officers (mix of ICE and police) are detaining vehicles on Cabin John Pkwy near "where you would turn left onto Clara Barton." They said it looks like they're profiling vehicles with lawn/maintenance equipment or nonwhite passengers. There's tow trucks at the site too. Friend says this isn't the first time they've seen this kind of activity at that location, usually after the rush hour (starting 10:30am ish). In case you have clients/loved ones to warn."

🚨🚨🚨ICE RAIDS ARE COMING TO WASHINGTON, D.C.

"ICE agents plan to initiate operations after breakfast hours and before dinner time, specifically targeting:

Restaurant workers, with a particular focus on employees at Subway franchises.

Delivery workers using scooters, especially those working for DoorDash.

Agents are expected to enter establishments under the pretext of conducting I-9 employment eligibility verification checks. Simultaneously, other agents will be positioned at the rear exits to apprehend individuals attempting to flee.

Employers are reminded that ICE agents require a judicial warrant to enter non-public areas of a business. [Warrant signed by a judge with a specific person's name] Employees have the right to remain silent and to consult with an attorney.
