He joined a group of exceptional men who have served as our King and becomes written into our history. King Centaur represents us in the community with pride and dignity and was selected for his untiring service and support to our Mighty Krewe.

Krewe of Centaur’s King, Jack Bailey

​Jack Bailey, a native of Shreveport, is an alumnus of LSU Law School, class of 1977. He has managed his own legal practice since 1989. Jack and his wife, Toye, have been married for forty years and are proud parents of three children and grandparents to Jackson. Both Jack and Toye became members of the Krewe of Centaur a decade ago and have since played significant roles, including participation with the Kochenderfer—now Brown—Float, and serving as annual Corporate Sponsors and Bead Committee members. Their contributions include facilitating the acquisition and enhancement of a new float, sponsoring facility improvements, and engaging in float design each year.

Having previously participated in other Krewes, Jack considers Centaur his primary community. He is recognized for his direct approach, as well as his enthusiasm for reading and Mardi Gras traditions—a passion he has passed on to his sons, now fellow Krewe members. Jack values the relationships cultivated within the organization, attributing the Krewe's success to its dedicated members, whom he sincerely thanks for their commitment over more than thirty years. Jack’s goal is to further advance the Krewe of Centaur’s presence within the ArkLaTex region and the broader Mardi Gras community.
