Do you own a Tristar Power Quick Pot or a Kalorik MAXX air fryer oven? CPSC is telling owners to stop using both and throw them out, and no company will recall either one.

Our weekly recall roundup covers those two warnings and eight recalls, including the Hyundai Genesis and G80, Volkswagen ID.4 and Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid. It lists the model numbers and what owners can do: check products at cpsc.gov/recalls, check vehicles by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, and keep any product that has already caused an injury instead of throwing it away.

The U.S. 90 Pearl River bridges near Slidell have been closed since 2022, leaving drivers without an important alternative route when traffic backs up on I-10 near the Louisiana–Mississippi state line.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is hosting two public hearings to discuss plans for replacing the bridges and gather community feedback.

Monday, October 26 | 4:30–7 p.m.
Northshore High School
100 Panther Drive, Slidell, LA

Residents are encouraged to attend, review the proposed plans, ask questions, and share their input. Spoken public comments will begin at 6 p.m. at each hearing.

Two kitchen appliances landed on CPSC's stop-using list this week, and neither will be recalled. About 393,000 Tristar Power Quick Pot 6-quart pressure cookers (model Y6D-36) have lids that can open while pressurized, with 24 reports of serious burns. Kalorik MAXX air fryer ovens with French doors can close on an arm while the oven is on. CPSC's advice for both: stop using it and throw it out.
