The answer isn’t necessarily just “the driver.” If a public transit employee causes an accident while doing their job, the agency they work for may potentially be responsible for resulting injuries.

And here’s the part many people don’t know: claims involving a California government agency can have much shorter deadlines. A personal-injury claim generally must first be presented to the government agency within six months of the injury.
