Jennifer Amdur and Andy Wildstein have been awarded a medical malpractice wrongful death settlement on behalf of the estate of a client against a hospital and colorectal surgeon who failed to timely diagnose our client’s sepsis. As a result of the defendant’s negligence, our client’s sepsis progressed to septic shock and ultimately to her death.

According to Attorney Jen Amdur, “our client was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend who should have never died. The care provided to her by the defendants was so egregious that this sad and very painful outcome was inevitable.”

The terms of the settlement are confidential.

According to Russ Berkowitz, managing partner of the firm, “Kelly started with the firm as a personal injury and medical malpractice paralegal back in 2009 but her passion for the law lead her to return to law school at Pace University School of Law where she obtained her Juris Doctorate degree. We were thrilled when Kelly came back as an associate and her elevation to Counsel is another step in her journey with the firm.” Known for her toughness in searching for the truth in our cases, Kelly has been a vital member of the firm and has worked on some of our most complex medical malpractice cases since returning to the firm as an associate. She also has been instrumental in obtaining awards for retired NFL football players in the NFL Brain Concussion Class Action and has been awarded over $20 million on behalf of a number of retired NFL players who have sustained brain injuries during their careers. Kelly is a Connecticut Super Lawyer “Rising Star” and member of the Fairfield County Bar Association where she serves on its Board.
