John may have been right, so if you agree, get your holiday weekend started off at the Town of Shelburne, Vermont Town Hall tonight (2 July) at 6:30 pm as we hear form some of our founders about their proposal of the Declaration of Independence. Afterwards, join in the public reading of the Declaration, along with some patriotic shenanigans and songs.

The Founding Father anticipated “Pomp and Parade” to mark America’s birthday. But he didn’t think it would happen July 4.

👮‍♂️ For ONE DAY ONLY (April 1st), if you drop off a non-perishable food item at the Shelburne Police Department, you'll receive a genuine, certified, almost totally legal "Get Out of Jail Free" card!

What can you use this card for?

Getting out of an awkward conversation!

Avoiding a boring chore!

Claiming the last piece of pizza!

Absolutely nothing related to actual police matters. (Wait, did we read the fine print?)

🍕 We need your help to stock the shelves at the Food Shelf!

Accepted items include:

Canned goods (soups, veggies, fruits)

Pasta and sauce

Cereal

Peanut butter

Non-perishable snacks
