The Town of Sharon’s Memorial Day Ceremony, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 24, will be relocated from Rock Ridge Cemetery to CareOne at Sharon at 675 S. Main St, due to the expected inclement weather.

Come drink Liberty Tea and taste George Washington's birthday cake when the Sharon Historical Society hosts a No Tea Party In Celebration of Deborah Sampson Day on Saturday, May 23, from 1 to 4 p.m. at 16 High St.

Sampson disguised herself as a man in order to serve in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War.

At the No Tea Party:
• Come meet Deborah Sampson.
• Listen to the music of the Continental Army.
• Learn about the Patriots who staged the rebellious action.
• Vote for your favorite Tea Party participant to enter the drawing for a tea party center piece.

A little after 1:30 p.m. state Rep. Ted Philips and Town of Sharon Select Board members will read the Governor’s Proclamation celebrating Sampson and present it to the Historical Society and the Town.

This event is part of the society’s “It’s Revolutionary!” series and has been supported by a grant from the Sharon Cultural Council. To learn more, go to https://buff.ly/lHrJOmP.
