Estate & Inhertance taxes : This bill just passed by Congress today includes a significant change to the federal estate and gift tax exemption. Specifically, it permanently extends and increases the exemption amount to $15 million per individual, $30 million per couple , indexed for inflation, effectively preserving the higher exemption levels. Without it would revert back to levels $7 million.
